Targets:

Quality targets are as follows:

a) All staff will participate in the management, to realize the effective control and continuous improvement of the entire production process; ensure the reasonableness of technical proposal; meet the requirements of laws, regulations and technical standards; make the major technical economic indexes be up to the advanced level among similar domestic projects;

b) Pay close attention to customers, to ensure that the products satisfy the customers’ requirements, with 100% qualification rate, 95% high-quality products, 100% contract performance ratio, and customer satisfaction ratio no lower than 90%.

Environmental-protection targets are as follows:

a) No any major environmental pollution accident;

b) Decreasing the destroy to site environment and reducing soil erosion;

c) Qualified garbage disposal, and up-to-standard discharge

Occupational health & safety targets are as follows:

a) No any fatal accident;

b) No any serious fire accident;

c) No any great traffic accident;

d) Zero occurrence of occupational disease

CSEPDI is a large electric power design institute in Wuhan which is directly subordinated to China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation, a central enterprise directly under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission,. For the past 50 years since its foundation, CSEPDI has occupied the leading position by its talents and comprehensive strength; gained the trust of customers by its perfect quality management, and made significant contributions to the electric power construction in China.

Our institute undergoes three stages for quality management, i.e. traditional quality management, total quality management and implementation of ISO9000 standard. Since 1979, CSEPDI started to implement the total quality management and was qualified in the ministerial-level acceptance in 1989. From 1995, CSEPDI started to establish a documented quality system in accordance with ISO9001:1994, and the system was implemented during the engineering survey, design, consultation, supervision, environmental impact assessment and service and passed the quality system certification in October 1996. Quality management system was established as per ISO9001:2000 from 2000, and the new standard was certified in June 2001 and the new certification document was obtained.

To improve our quality management level, CSEPDI performs the commitment to the society and implements all concerns and cares upon the staff. In 2006, CSEPDI started to establish an integrated management system of quality, environment and occupational health & safety in accordance with ISO9001:2000, ISO14001:2004 and GB/T28001－2001; set up the management policy of “Quality oriented, good-faith service based, wining customers by providing high-quality products; responsibility clearly-determined, prevention strengthened, ensuring the production safety and health; meticulous organization, environment harmonized, reducing the consumption of resources & energies; laws & regulations abided, management innovated, continuously improving the management system”; implemented the management on quality, environment and occupational health & safety; and obtained the environmental management system certification and the occupational health & safety management system certification which cover the entire EPC project in June 2006.

Over the years, CSEPDI persists in the concept of quality-based benefit, manages the production through the method of “process management”, mobilize all staff to participate in the quality management, focus on the customers, and continuously provides products satisfied by the customers. In total, CSEPDI wins 24 State Excellent Engineering Design Prizes, 7 State Excellent Investigation Prizes, 16 State High-quality Engineering Awards, 11 State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, 7 National Science Congress Awards, 15 National Excellent QC Team Awards, Advanced Enterprise Winning Customers’ Satisfaction in Electric Power Industry in 2006, Advanced Enterprise with Outstanding Performance in Electric Power Industry in 2008. Our business income ranked the 43^rd among all engineering survey & design enterprises in China in 2008, ranked the 27^th in the “double top 60 Chinese contractors and engineering design institutes” by the US Engineering News Record (“ENR”), and ranked the 33^rd in the National EPC Contract Completion Rate. In 2009, CSEPDI obtained the award of Advanced Enterprise Won Customers’ Satisfaction in Electric Power Industry and also the Quality Prize of Electric Power Industry.

Our institute keeps on maintaining the normal operation of the quality system by means of internal audit and management evaluation, to promote the continuous improvement of the management quality. In addition, our institute has fostered a backbone team, including more than 120 internal auditors separately responsible for quality, environment and occupational health & safety.

Our institute will persevere in pursuing the continuous improvement of management system, constant satisfaction of customers, conformity of requirements of the society and related parties and improvement of the performance of occupational health & safety.
